Privacy policy

This Policy applies to personal data processed in connection with the GeneratorsMarket website, seller panel and related communications. For the purposes of applicable UAE data protection requirements, the operator of GeneratorsMarket determines the purposes and means of processing described here.

This Policy does not cover third-party websites, WhatsApp, payment apps or seller systems that you may access after leaving the Platform. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

Account and profile data: when you register as a seller we collect identifiers and contact details such as name, email address, phone numbers, company name, seller type, emirate, showroom profile text, website and address, and any verification status we maintain.

Listing and commercial content: descriptions, specifications, prices, media you upload, and related moderation notes needed to operate the catalogue.

Enquiry and lead data: when a visitor reveals a phone number, opens WhatsApp, submits a rental RFQ, files a report, or sends a message through the Contact page, we process the information submitted and related technical metadata.

Technical and usage data: IP address (often stored in hashed or truncated form), browser type, device signals, approximate location derived from network data, pages viewed, referring URLs, and cookie identifiers required for security and session management.

Payment-related data: package purchase requests, payment references, amounts, and fulfilment status. Card or wallet details are handled by the payment provider (for example Ziina) according to that provider’s terms; we do not store full payment-card numbers on GeneratorsMarket systems.

We process personal data to operate and secure the marketplace; create and administer seller accounts; publish and moderate listings; route rental RFQs to relevant providers; record contact events so sellers can review lead activity; prevent spam, fraud and abuse; fulfil credit grants after payment confirmation; provide customer support; improve product quality and reliability; and comply with legal obligations.

Contact events stored in our own database are the operational source of truth for seller lead analytics. Third-party analytics tools (such as GA4, where enabled) are used for aggregate traffic insight and are supplementary only.

We process personal data where processing is necessary to perform a contract with you (for example, providing a seller account or granting purchased credits), where we have a legitimate interest in operating a trustworthy B2B marketplace (for example, moderation, security and product improvement), where you have provided information voluntarily (for example, a contact-form message or RFQ), or where processing is required to meet applicable legal obligations.

Where UAE law requires consent for a specific processing activity, we will request that consent in a clear manner and honour withdrawal where legally available, without affecting processing that relies on another lawful ground.

With buyers and sellers as part of marketplace function: when a buyer uses Call or WhatsApp on a listing or showroom, seller contact details necessary for that enquiry are disclosed to the buyer. When you submit an RFQ, your contact and requirement details are shared with the rental companies or dealers we route to.

With service providers: we use infrastructure, email, hosting, media storage, security and payment providers who process data on our instructions to run the Platform. These providers may process data in the UAE or in other jurisdictions where they operate.

For legal and safety reasons: we may disclose data if required by law, regulation, court order or competent authority, or if necessary to protect the rights, safety or property of GeneratorsMarket, our users or the public.

We do not sell buyer contact databases. We do not share seller lead lists with unrelated advertisers for their independent marketing.

Our hosting, CDN, email or analytics providers may process data outside the UAE. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we take steps appropriate to the nature of the transfer and applicable law, including contractual protections with providers where required.

We retain personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, including operational, security, accounting and dispute-resolution needs.

Credit ledger entries and audit logs are append-only and are retained for accounting integrity, partner transparency and investigation of abuse. Contact-event records, reports and form submissions are kept for as long as reasonably necessary for seller analytics, spam prevention and legal compliance, after which they may be deleted, aggregated or anonymised.

If you close a seller account, we may retain certain records where we have a continuing legal or legitimate need (for example, payment and ledger history), while removing or restricting data that is no longer required for active marketplace operation.

We implement technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including access controls, encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashing of certain identifiers used in contact events, and operational monitoring. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; you use the Platform understanding that residual risk remains.

Sellers are responsible for keeping account credentials confidential and for ensuring that phone numbers published for buyer contact are correct and under their control.

We use essential cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, protect against cross-site request forgery, remember basic preferences and keep the Platform secure. These are required for core functionality.

Where we enable analytics cookies or pixels, they help us understand aggregate traffic and product usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the Platform from working.

Sellers can review and update many profile and contact fields directly in the seller panel. Buyers may browse and contact sellers without creating an account.

Subject to applicable UAE law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, or object to certain processing. We may need to verify your identity and may decline or limit requests where an exemption applies (for example, where retention is required for accounting, security or legal claims).

To exercise a privacy request, use the Contact page and describe the request clearly. We aim to respond within one business day for acknowledgement and within a reasonable period thereafter for completion.

The Platform is directed at business users and adults engaged in commercial generator trading. It is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have done so, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete the data.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will be revised when changes are posted. Material changes will be published on this page and, where appropriate, communicated to registered sellers.

We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Continued use of the Platform after an update constitutes acknowledgement of the revised Policy.
